My BFF / My Style Icon

Dress: Manish Arora ; Shoes: Zara

Here is what you guys need to know about Renuka. She is the person that taught me to be totally and completely unafraid of what the world thinks about my fashion; to be true to my conviction of what looks good on me and what I like. Her utter desire to be non-trendy [and by that I mean, not following magazine trends] is the best part about her style. She’s unique cause she has a very strong opinion about fashion which is “to be different”. And she always comes out looking like a brilliant piece of art!! I have learnt soo much about fashion from her that I really have to say hands down; she is one of my biggest style icons [and from the pictures I am sure you can see why too].

We both grew up together in Bombay, India and have been best friends since the past 16 years or more. We are like one old married couple that fight like crazy but are still totally crazy about each other and already know that we can’t live without each other in our lives no matter what happens. I remember when we were in tenth grade we used to dress like complete tom boys with George Michael haircuts [we didn’t know he was gay back then…lol], wearing leather gloves, bandanas, flannel shirts with sleeves rolled up as high as we possibly could, earring in one ear and boots [in 100 degrees… don’t ask why]. I literally have no idea why we thought it was cool to dress like that back then [even though we are totally straight], but it did make the 2 of us ultra famous amongst our local community..hehe …. [yeah yeah, I know what your thinking…maybe that’s why we did it..and your most probably right. I’m modest like that ;-) ]

Am in love with Renuka’s entire wardrobe. We both keep stealing stuff from each other’s wardrobes [a privilege only she and my sisters have so far]. Am waiting for her to get bored of this fantastic Manish Arora dress she’s wearing. I love it soo much, I am actually considering praying..lol… Manish Arora is again one of our favorite Indian designers. Considering that Renuka runs The Guild Art Gallery, NYC and is obsessed with everything art related it’s not a surprise that she picks out more artful outfits too. Maybe someday I’ll sneak into her wardrobe to show you guys more of her cool collection.

I love you honey!!

xoxo

PS: Now can I have that dress!!

  7. Alright Ladies,

I have give Prutha and Shraddha all the credit!! they make it so easy to pose away, i felt like a model at the end of it, (didn't necessarily look like one). The only reason I look hot is because 1. P convinced me to wear this dress(and yes you can borrow it anytime you like) and 2. because Shraddha is a great photographer!!

    Also I love Manish Aurora!!

And taking corrective measures, yes we were tomboys!! NO we didnt have Grorge Michael Haircuts!! We did wear all matchy matchy clothes...totally trippin!!!

MWAAAH P and S for letting me pose...Love YA
