Donations Accepted in The Name of Fashion: Personal Fashion

Dress: Manish Arora; Shoes: Ashish for Topshop

Since I couldn’t get many people to actually spend time to watch my video below [ I have to agree I don’t watch videos on other people’s blogs either…lol], I thought I should atleast post a few pictures of the fabulous outfit and process. I love this dress and if you know me even a little bit you know I am obsessed with Manish Arora’s work!! OBSESSED!!! This is by far the most expensive outfit I own!!

I still have to say that I had the most amazing time making that improv video below, without any retakes, planning or over thinking [Except for the editing where S had to think a lot for sure!!]. It was such a great experience and even if people don’t check it out, I am surely gonna make more of these if possible.. I love it!!!

Have We Been Hypnotized To Expect Less? :Personal Fashion Video

Video by Shraddha Borawake [Thank you sincerely honey for actually creating art with me. You are amazing!!]. I have to also thank my friend Anusha for being such great help that night!!

The kind of pure passion, excitement and orgasmic pleasure I feel about pushing creative boundaries and actually making it happen is something I hope everyone can feel and experience in some form or the other sometime in their life. Standing in the middle of Time Square on a Friday night with a sign that reads “Donations Accepted in the Name of Fashion” and seeing the reactions of hundreds and hundreds of people is overwhelming yet intensely satisfying from a performing art stand point. Doing anything different is imperative to keeping me interested in my own life. I know I am going to sleep with a smile on my face tonight. I hope Shraddha is too.

PS: At the Count of Three You will Snap Out of It…. One....Two….Three….SNAP!!

[If you Spot the Title of this post and the PS in the video somewhere, you get 2 “Creative” brownie points]

Chictopia: Street Fashion

Everything: Vintage

I am so inspired by Hope’s style. Every time I bumped into her at NYFW she was dressed in one outfit better than the last. How sweet is that large skirt with all that tutu underneath? Love her head piece and the gold belt. Hope Adela is a blogger for Chictopia and has her own blog called Pink Champagne and a total fashion rock star!!

Rang Barse: Not a Fashion Post!!

Images by Shraddha Borawake and Vijay Bala using iPhone

Holi is an Indian festival of colors that I believe is supposed to signify the onset of spring, celebrated after a full moon. Basically on the day of Holi people get together and play with colors. It’s the funnest festival in the world hands down. Everyone gets a free pass at playing with anyone they see on the street. It’s like a massive paint-ball event without the painful paint-ball attacks.

There was an event in NYC with music and Holi colors and performances which a bunch of my friends and I went to. And it ended up being a fab day of crazy Holi playing and dancing for 3 hours on the street and meeting some fab new people. That’s exactly what Holi is all about and I am still excited about the events of the day. Yippiee!!

PS: If you haven’t already noticed, this is not a fashion post. I was wearing the worse possible clothes in my wardrobe with a free I <3 NYC sweat shirt so I can throw them away after I am done with playing with the colors. Yes I have some tacky clothes too.

PPS: I made my donation to the Japan relief efforts to the American Red Cross. Hoping you guys will too. Let's do the best we can people.

Big Yellow Cab Put Up a Parking Light: Personal Fashion

Images by NURBS

Dress: Free People; Boots: Kenneth Cole; Black and Brown Jackets: Thrifted; Bag: Zara

I have had the most miserable last week all thanks to the flu. And I swear the weathermen lie. While shooting today I was told it was going to be 50 degrees and what total BS that was. But NURBS and I braved it out in the hopes of not having to brave it out for too long. The summer is right around the corner I was told [by the very same lying weather men].

This free people slip is so light and airy, me like.

I also watched Rango last week and thought the movie was ok. I love animated movies so I watch most of them but didn’t think much of this one. Has anyone else watched it? What did you guys think of it?

Rain Rain go away: Personal Fashion

Dress: Zara; Fur Crop: Don't remember; Necklace: Topshop

This image was taken outside of the Lincoln Center on the last day of NYFW. I think I was just super happy at this point that it was over and that I could finally go home and rest my feet. Hence the immense happiness on my face.

Have been unwell due to this crazy NYC weather, so this is all I got for you guys today. Hope everyone is having a fab day and please pray to the weather gods for me that summer finally surfaces as the blue moon has come and gone I feel.

Parallel Universe: Street Fashion

Images by Prutha Raithatha

Dress: Vivienne Tam; Shoes: Frank Nathan; Bag: Chanel

Little freckles on the nose, the perfect imperfections. Love the tattoo around the ear reading, “Parallel Universe” and the window-ed pumps. Spotted Alexa Winner [stylist] outside the Vivienne Tam show and I fell in love with this beauty. All that fab Indian jewelry she was wearing had nothing to do with it.
