Images by Shraddha Borawake

Jacket: Johns NY, Jeans: Hudsons; Belt: Westville; Scarf: Street; Shirt: Express; Shoes: Zara

From 2 blocks away we could spot Irvin in his orange scarf. I just thought it was a very interesting color of men to wear with a jacket so had to shop him. Love the shoes and just the whole look overall for doing fun semi-casual menswear.

Sari Yaar: Personal Fashion

Images By Anjali Bhargava

Sari/ Clutch: From Bombay; Skull Ring: Alexander McQueen; Shoes: Aldo; Peacock Feather Pin: Macy’s

I have been dying to do a post on a sari. Sari is the Indian traditional outfit for women. I would not wear it on a day to day basis due to plain practical issues like it will take me years of training to be able to drape one around me in less than 30 mins and even longer to train myself to run in a sari after trains and buses..hehe… yes it’s the truth about my life that I have finally made peace with: I am always running! And sadly it’s always after public transportation. ..lol..Hence I thought it would be apt to have these pics be taken in an NYC subway station.

Someday I wish to be able to go to work [in NYC] in a sari if I feel like it every once in a while. Mental Note: Have to find an employer cool enough…lol.. But why not I say. My wish right?

Since this sari is quite a formal piece with a lot of elaborate antique embroidery on it, I didn’t want to accessories it too much.  Just one cocktail ring and that’s it. FYI, this is never the case with actually Indian formal attire. We Indians believe in more is more and normally wear extravagant jewelry with such saris.

So just cause I have a twisted head, I decided to club my “Sati Savitri” – look [Good girl look] with a huge skull McQueen ring. BTW, I love this ring sooo much I want my engagement ring to be just this!!! Now all I need is to find a boy to marry me J

PS: This was one of the funnest shoots ever. The sari got way too much attention.

Mountains and Insects: Street Fashion

Images by Shraddha Borawake

Dress: Beacon’s Closet; Necklace: street; Rings and Shoes: Thrifted

Joanna/ Asia [yes, she has 2 first names. trust me, I asked 3 times] is on her own fashion adventure of sorts. It’s incredible for me to spot a particular thing that I have never seen before on someone else, like her necklace. It was soo cool to me and even more because I had never seen anything like it before. I love discovering.

When we spotted her, I pointed to her that she had something on her face. And she asked me, “Is it a booger? I just spent 10 mins talking to a really cute boy right before I met u girls with a booger on my face?.. Crap!!..Well atleast now I know why he won’t call…lol”. In the middle of the hysterical laughing fit we were having I confirmed to her that it wasn’t a booger and was just maybe her eyeliner or something smudged. Some people just have it all I tell u…the look, the personally and the heart to be unafraid. Adored her and her look.

eBay Babe: Street Fashion

Images by Prutha Raithatha

Skirt Dress: Future Classics; Belt: Linea Pelle; Bag: Costume National; Shirt: Gypsy; Shoes: Modern Vintage; Bangle: Thrift Store

Bumped into the lovely Bre right below my apartment. I instantly spotted her cool skirt dress with the vintage looking belt and had to stop her. Apart from posing for me quite patiently she ended up being quite a resource too. We got talking and I am telling you people, this girl knows her ebay. She gave me all sorts of ideas about shopping online and finding stuff that in the store maybe way too expensive. I am still waiting for her to send me links to all the sellers on ebay she follows… once I get them, I’m gonna try to make my first ebay purchase!! [Yes, you know I don’t like shopping online. But to save some of that money I don’t have, I shall attempt it…Why not right?]

Bre is a writer and was a completely delightful encounter.

Sui Me: Personal Fashion

Images By Anjali Bhargava

Dress: Anna Sui; Shoes: Ashish for Topshop; Tiny Hat Headpin/ Sunglasses: Random street stall; Watch: Kenneth Cole [borrowed from friend]; Bird Nest Ring: Topshop

Everytime I find a pair of shoes that I totally adore and must have but can't afford, my little heart totally sinks and it’s as bad a feeling as a breakup with someone after years of dating them. I am NOT kidding…. I take my shoes so seriously, it has to be classified as a relationship. I even wear my shoes in rotation so that one pair doesn’t feel left out just coz I wore the other ones 2 times more. But when that unaffordable pair comes on sale and I can finally afford them, its like I have died and gone to heaven!! I had gone to Topshop atleast 4 times to try these gold entities before they finally came on sale a few weeks ago and then I just couldn’t resist and finally bought them home, where they belong. So Excited!!

This dress was also one of those obsessive attractions of my life. I saw this dress, obsessed over it for about a week and then due to complete lack of sleep it caused, I had to collect all of my pennies in savings and buy it. Did not regret my decision. Tail coat detail on the back, a hoodie, rich fabric, beautiful colors and quirkiness all over.  It was so me that it would have been a crime if I hadn’t adopted it. I heart Anna Sui too BTW.

Saw Jack Johnson in concert last week, saw Inception last night, ran 7 miles on Saturday, shot a fabulous shoot today with Anjali for next week’s post, and a million other little things happened along the way. All in all Life is Good!

What have you guys been upto lately?

Classic Elegance: Street Fashion

Images by Prutha Raithatha

“Classic Elegance” are the perfect words to describe Dasha’s look. There is something to be said about being in the perfect LBD and looking like a million dollars. I cannot get over the Victorian Chandelier earrings she has on. Beyond gorgeous I say. And just so that the whole look still stays cool and a little edgy, her peep toe Manolos and riveted clutch are added to the mix. I love the brilliance of this elegant yet edgy look. Image how good of an arm candy she is for her husband [who FYI, was super sweet and strutting gold Dr. Martens himself]

Dasha is a chef and I can only imagine what her food tastes like if her wardrobe looks so yummy.

I Stole her Spots: Personal Fashion

Images By Anjali Bhargava . Do check out her website for some cool photography

Shirt: Zara ; Denim cutoffs: American Eagle ; Necklaces: Club Monaco and Topshop ; Shoes: Irregular Choices

So like you guys didn’t already know, I love leopard printed anything. Saw this shirt in Zara and almost cried. It’s the perfect find. Light, airy and the perfect print [yeah, somehow I never find the right leopard print. It’s either too orange or too brown or smaller spots or just not the right fit].

Wanted to keep the look a bit casual with the denim cutoffs but couldn’t help blinging it out with the multiple chain necklaces. And is it crazy that I think neon pink nail polish is just divine. Goes well with Chuchi [my roommate’s cat] too.

Congrats to Spain on the big win!!! Ole Ole Ole!!
