Musical Smile: Street Fashion

Images by Prutha Raithatha

So I asked this lady for a picture at a coffee shop because I loved her nose ring. She reluctantly nodded "ok". I guess seeing how crazy my own outfit was she felt comfortable enough to let me take her picture. I clicked one, then I asked her to smile and then this happened. I LOVE IT! People are too interesting. Just too fucking interesting.

Laced Tattoos: Street Fashion

Images by Prutha Raithatha

Spotted this rock star backstage at the Falguni and Shane Peacock [FSP] show at NYFW SS2013. The most interesting part about the outfit, which was a FSP outfit, was the strategic locations of all the lace that showed off this girls body art perfectly. A true visual of skin deep layers of art. Makes you want to get to know the layers to her personality too.

OVersized: Personal Fashion

Oversized Peacoat: Maison Martin Margiela x H&M; Shoes: Underground UK

I have to admit that I was a lot more excited about the Maison Martin Margiela X H&M collaboration than their Versace collaboration. It's just more my style. It helped big time that MMM aren't everyone else's style. The lines weren't that crazy. This oversized Peacoat is one of the things that I bought and I can live in it! I love how the shoulders are 3 times the size of my shoulders and that everyone on the street was staring at me like I was some poor [literally] girl who couldn't afford to buy a coat that fit her so she just put on her father's coat. Love it!

PS: Wishing everyone in Gaza peace and strength.

King of the Concrete Jungle: Street Fashion

Images by Prutha Raithatha

This guy's outfit is one of the best I have spotted in a while. Love the layered shorts. They are my favorite part of the outfit and I totally do not mind the overdone leopard print with the tee, shorts and shoes because I think he played really well with his layers. The title of the post is befitting as I spotted him on one of the busiest days in Soho and had a million people on the street. Kinda cool when you are walking past an excessive wave of fashionable people on the street and yet find one such person who will stand out from an already good looking crowd of people to just be a tad better more perfect. Love when that happens.

Disconnect to Connect: Personal Fashion

Images by Alison Wynn

Coat: All Saints; Leggings: BCBG; Inner Black top: Complex Geometry; Red Sweater: Thrifted; Head Scarf: Irregular Choices; Cross Necklace: Pureville; Shoes: Underground UK

New Uniform! This one. In love with the crazy zippers on this sweater I found at a thrift store in the desert in California. Totally worth every penny. And this cross necklace, as I had mentioned in an earlier post, I found at Pop Souk. I love my unique finds of fashion. A closet full of them is all I want.

So halloween and NYC Marathon got cancelled due to hurricane sandy in NYC. Which was a bummer but Sandy was no joke and I support the cancellations of both events as the city resources are seriously needed to manage the sandy after effects. I am just glad that my work is back in action from tomorrow and I can get back to my routine. For such a free spirit, its unbelievable now accustomed to a routine I am. Don't know if I will ever be okay with not working. Also daytime telly is terrible! So no incentive.

How is it going with you guys? Give me updates!

DSM on Jasonitos TV

While Sandy continues to make life slightly more difficult to resume work and blog, check out this super cute video my blogger BFF Jason made while of me during his last visit to NYC. This guy is a fab photog and an amazing person. You must check out his blog.

Hope everyone around the world is doing well. If you an american don't forget to go vote [democrat ofcourse ;)] and if you are in NYC and need any help or assistance while being affected by Hurricane Sandy, I utterly urge you to just drop me a comment and I will be sure to get back to you with help! I promise! For all who did like to help, there are recovery centers around the city collecting warm clothes, canned food and water for people struck in Staten Island, etc.
