Once Upon a Time: Street Fashion

Almost 2 years ago when Shraddha was still shooting for DSM, on one of our street fashion excursions, we spotted this stylist with fantastic dark flare. Loved every piece on him especially his accessories. Was just going through my archives right now to purge and I spotted his pics and realized I had totally missed putting him up. I know there are a LOT of similar people that I have been unable to post, so will try to do so once in a while when I get a chance to revisit the 1 TB archive!

Recycle and Reuse: Personal Fashion

There are moments in life that you always cherish and remember as your favorite times in life. You go there every time you need a vacation, unconditional love and comfort. In the tightly squeezed arms of non-judgmental friendship that you know will always last forever just cause it has already lasted for half of forever. I was talking to my friend Alison today right before we both went to take a nap in the middle of our sundays in our respective homes and we decided to meet in our dreams cause we couldn't hang out. We are going to meet in person tomorrow to discuss how our dream date went. If you think we are kidding.. well you know me better than that by now. I can't wait to hear from her what we did in her dream and I can't tell you what we did in mine cause it's a whole hydraulic + psychedelic + chaotic process that maybe someday I shall show you instead of just telling you about it on this post ;-)

But the point is that some reflections of our past can always bring a certain amount of peace and pleasure to our present. There has always been some good times and those can be extended indefinitely if we learn to recycle them. These pictures are from one of those moments of my life as I continue to make some more great memories that I shall reuse in the future. Happiness is easy.

Twinkle Toes for the Summer Because Life is Good: For SquareKey

My Latest post for SquareKey.com

While shopping for a good pair of shoes for any season, the best way to scout the scene is to head to Saks Fifth Ave, Bloomingdale's or Barney's shoe department. All the best designer stuff at your finger tips at once so comparing becomes easy. My one quick trip to Saks Fifth Ave has you the best choices for your spring-summer foot-robe. Here are some of my favorites.

How can it get any better than this flower sandal by Nicholas Kirkwood

Nicholas Kirkwood himself in the background of his shoes. He is a sweet heart BTW.

Guiseppe Zanoti.

Spotted a Fall shoe on the sale rack that I fell in love with.

Colored wedges to go with all the maxi dresses and Khaki shorts by Brian Atwood

YSL Block heels, some with graffitied wedges are fantastic statement pieces.

Colored Metallics to go with any denim

Reed Krakoff to go with any grey/ beige pencil skirt suit for the office

A girl can never have enough Christian Loubutins or Spikes

Some more Loubutins from his Bollywood collection. Ignore the pink one in the background. It's not my favorite.

Gorgeous Valentinos I wish could wear with a red cat suit [if I had the figure]. One black and one white for me please. Just like in the picture. But that's just me. I am a tad eccentric. You can of course wear both the shoes of the same color as intended by the designer.

For the brides to be, with love and glitter from Jimmy Choo

These gold Guiseppe Zanotis can make any outfit. Such a cool spin off on the classic bow!

Some more glitter by Miu Miu.

Have to be my favorites of the lot. Now these are the shoes that you should buy first and then buy an outfit around it. And it would totally be worth it cause all of them are such entities by themselves that the world should revolve around them. It's just the way the universe intended it to be. It's plain science.

Yamerra: Street Fashion

Images by Prutha Raithatha

Last Sunday while walking about the city, my friend and I first hit Mr. Mickey's fund raiser designer sale at Screaming Mimis and then walked into a group of emerging designers showing  at a store in soho. Then to the Helmut Lang sample sale where my girl friend dropped a rough $700 and called it a thrifty day. I want her father to adopt me I tell ya. I was genuinely thrifty and walked away with one pair of harem shorts from HL. I know, I'm such a good girl! [I hate it!!! ] ...hehe.

The point of this whole story was that somewhere along the way we bumped into beautiful Yamerra who's look stole my heart. It was so dreamy and proper at the same time and that skin! Loved the cool hair do the most. Yamerra has a skin and hair care product line which is 100% organic. Check it out.

Bloomers: Personal Fashion

Images by Jackie Russo

Shirt & Bloomers: Thrifted; Head Scarf: Irregular Choices; Shoes: Underground UK ; Silver Skull Necklace: Evolution; Other Skull Necklace: TopMan

I always get super excited when I find a piece of clothing that is different and a perfect addition to my wardrobe. These red bloomers I found at a thrift store in the Palm Spring desert are one of them. I love these bloomers and this shirt that I have practically been living in since my roomie gave it to me. Turned a scarf into a turban. This scarf is huge with a million ribbon rosettes on it. Its from my favorite shoe store Irregular Choices which BTW closed the only store they had in NYC and was 5 mins from my apartment. I am still mourning the death of the only cool shoe store in town! All other stores bore the crap out of me :( .. Please IC, come back!

Hoping everyone had a great Memorial Day in the US.

Oh and watched this french movie called "Intouchables" over the weekend and I highly recommend!
