Y-3 : MBFW

Images by Prutha Raithatha

The Y-3 show is always inspiring and entertaining. Ofcourse Yoji's work is phenomenal but this time the show was in a huge warehouse-like space in the general post office in NYC near Penn-Station and had a bunch of drummers playing live music for the models to strut to, which was awesome. I loved the Y-me platform shoes. The show ended with Yoji playing the drums himself for us for a minute. Super cute and funny.

When Two Cooks Spoil the Broth: Styling

Images by Prutha Raithatha

Hrishi and I recently did an engagement shoot for Hrishi's friends Ben and Lavi. In the hopes to not make it super cliched, this is one series I came up with. Did the styling, concept and shoot. I was too excited with the result so had to share on the blog :)

What do you guys think?

Across the Zebra Crossing: Street Fashion

Images by Prutha Raithatha

While roaming the streets of London one day with my cousin, we bumped into this fantastic lady. I saw her across the street from me and knew I had to stop her for some pictures. So when the walk sign came on, I stayed on my side and waited for her to cross over. Love the grunge look. And I like the idea of yellow instead of red plaid. I want that coat!

Rosetta: Street Fashion

The one place that you cannot ever get fed-up of in Bombay is Nariman Point. It is a long stretch of a retaining wall along the Arabian Sea that you can sit on and watch the endless ocean and beautiful sunsets. I was sitting there one evening with a friend, just catching up on our lives and this little girl came from behind and almost shoved her roses in my friend's nose. She wanted him to buy them for me, but I guess she also wanted him to smell the roses first. Although my friend didn't want the roses and neither did I, I was laughing so hard at her sudden appearance from behind us and the shoving of the roses in my friend's nose that I decided to take a picture of her on my iphone. She was happy to pose but then ultimately got shy, smiled and said thank you after she saw her pictures on my phone and ran away. I don't know why but her look reminds me of M.I.A [as a kid ofcourse]. Love the hoodie over a satin frock and her purple shorts peaking from under her dress. Too cute!

PS: I have had a blast of a time in Mumbai on my so called "vacation" which has been more packed than my usual days in NYC. And I cannot wait to share the stories with you guys, unless you've been following my updates on twitter and facebook in which case you know a bunch of it. Now in London for a week for some real downtime and relaxation.

In the Jungle: Street Fashion

Images by Prutha Raithatha

Fancy any woman wearing a bindi. Love the dark lips and the hipster look with it. The acid wash jeans on the guy look great IMHO. Notice the big horizontal ring on this fingers. It's all in the details people. I say that way too many times. I know!

Musical Smile: Street Fashion

Images by Prutha Raithatha

So I asked this lady for a picture at a coffee shop because I loved her nose ring. She reluctantly nodded "ok". I guess seeing how crazy my own outfit was she felt comfortable enough to let me take her picture. I clicked one, then I asked her to smile and then this happened. I LOVE IT! People are too interesting. Just too fucking interesting.

Laced Tattoos: Street Fashion

Images by Prutha Raithatha

Spotted this rock star backstage at the Falguni and Shane Peacock [FSP] show at NYFW SS2013. The most interesting part about the outfit, which was a FSP outfit, was the strategic locations of all the lace that showed off this girls body art perfectly. A true visual of skin deep layers of art. Makes you want to get to know the layers to her personality too.

Bindi Calling Bindi: Street Fashion

I know we are all done with the multicolored hair and all that, but I still like the trend and think will always love it. But this girl is so bad-ass sexy its unbelievable! Love her casual comfy coolness.Take a moment to appreciate the details of her OTT blinged out phone case, her pyramid crystal ring, her Elvis blingy sunnies in her transparent purse et al. Ok?

Princess on the Loose: Street Fashion

Images by Prutha Raithatha

It is a good thing to take a break from taking a break sometimes and actually getting a shot in. I was catching up with some friends at the Grey Dog cafe one weekend and taking my order was Princess Ariel! [real name Jess]. I could not get out of that place without asking her for a picture and she was too cute to actually step outside for me. Love [beyond life] her head chain thing which I think would not have looked half as cool without the orange hair. I know it's the new trend to be wearing head chains but honestly you are not going to find one as unique, elaborate and beautiful as hers. She found hers at Buffalo Exchange and it is vintage. Jess's real profession is being a musician but she studied photography. I hope she likes the pictures I took of her. Taking pictures of photographers always makes me a bit nervous.

Thanks again Jess for being such a sweetheart.
