Utterly Butterly Delicious: Personal Fashion

Images by Ben Taylor

Harem Pants and Top: Borrowed from Retarded Velvet [all opinions here are my own and this is not a paid gig]; Jacket: Suno; Shoes: Irregular Choices

Can someone please explain the genius behind these prints to the non-Indian world? I am going to try but if you think you can do it better, you should in the comments section.

PART ONE: The Pants
These harem pants have a print of a very beloved and extremely famous caricature for a butter brand in India called Amul. This chubby "Amul Girl/ Baby" has been the mascot for the brand since 1967 and Amul ads are the best billboards on this planet! They are witty, always a spoof on current affairs hence relevant and they always incorporate this Amul Baby in it. These ads are so cool they've won a Guinness world record for the longest running ad campaign when first launched in 1967. I could have just given you the link to the wiki page on this info but nooooooooooooooo, I wanted to type it all while on a terrible work deadline just for you. For reals. So how ingenues is this idea by retarded velvet to put this Amul baby character on a pair of Harem plants??

PART TWO: The Top
The top has another crazy Indian cultural and mythological comic strip called "Amar Chitra Katha" on it. So you can find out more about this here.

PART THREE: The Jacket
You have seen me use this jacket a couple of times before on the blog. It is insane in it's prints and colors too and I think unintentionally it does have an Indian feel to it [with the back print that you can see here] which totally compliments all the other modern [almost hipster] cut separates in this outfit with an Indian traditional pop culture print.

Now I have to get back to work! Hope all you guys had a great weekend! I surely did!

Tell Me a Little About that Girl in The Mirror: Personal Fashion

Images by Alison Wynn

Playsuit: Vintage; Jacket: Suno NYC; Shoes: Irregular Choices

Doing a shoot aimlessly is always fun. Alison and I wandered around for a location for this shoot until we stumbled upon a metal scrap furniture yard, then a pile of garbage [which we shall not get into the details of], then a play ground and then dudes playing basket ball in the play ground. You can not capture the story behind the story most of the times, and that's sad, but it is certainly equally interesting.

Hope most of you are enjoying this summer despite the recurrent heat waves. Please do share some stories about your summer with me. I did like to know just for the heck of knowing what all you guys are up to. Blogging ends up being a bit of a one way conversation and I would love for that to change. I want to know about your life too!

Love you all. Whoever in this *bigger than the galaxies* cyberspace visits this blog.

Why Do Guys Sweat So Much: Personal Fashion

Images by Ben Taylor [How insane are these images!!]

Dress + Jacket: SUNO; Shoes: Moonspoon; Black and White skull shirt: Roommate Giveaway; Razor Necklace: Bosquejo

Excuse me, but did I just pull off a freaking Mohawk on my own? Yes I did! I finally found a hair product that actually works and I did this on my own. I am afraid now that I know how to pull this monstrosity off, my friends might have to deal with me actually wearing a pink mohawk in real life. The 2 peace pins on the sides included. I kid you not!

You know I love color. When it comes to color, I mostly feel like more is more. I wore this exact outfit [sans mohawk] on NYE. This is what I call my party wear ;-). I cannot and will not dress myself in a tight fitted bandage halter neck mini dress ever. It's such a cliche of sexy, it bores me to death to even think about it.

Have to be blown away by this location right? It's a nightclub/ art gallery that I did a post on sometime ago called W.i.P in Soho. The craziness of the art is reason enough to go check out this insane club. Thanks again Ron for letting us use the space to create our own art.
