Faceless Ghosts: Personal Fashion

Images by NURBS

Dress: Helmut Lang; Shoes: Pixie Market

Shooting with NURBS, we spotted this cool art on a door and were contemplating if we should use it as a backdrop.

ME: Oh I love it, can we use it please?
NURBS: Really?
Me: Why not? It’s beautiful. 3 women in abstract. And I love the colors
NURBS: They don’t have faces. They are ghosts!! And you don’t really know if they are women ghosts either. Anyone can dress up like women.

I won. But I wonder if the ghosts will haunt NURBS tonight? Lol.

Side Note: NURBS is a very simple, shy, conservative, Indian IT professional. I apparently *shock* him every time he comes to shoot me. hehe. I feel like I am kinda rubbing off on him with this comment.

DSM's on Twitter if you'd like to keep in touch.

  1. Loved the dress and the 'ghosts'. The painted inverted red brows/neck accessory is an interesting touch.

  4. I love the way fashion and art intersected over here, the art as the backdrop in the first picture works so much in sync with your dress. I also really liked the interpretation of the women in the painting as faceless ghosts:)

Have been visiting your blog for quite sometime, really admire the uniqueness of each of your personal fashion shoots!

  12. I was in New York a few weeks ago visiting my sister who goes to school there and we wandered into this store. It was on Bleecker St. and the owner was a sweet Indian man and he stocked everything from incense to ohm rings and pendants and various other things. On the way out there was a guestbook and the email at the top was Prutha @ something and I thought of you as the you're the only Prutha I, "know." I know it's a long shot but I thought how odd it would be if it was you!
