Milk It: Travel, India

Images by Prutha Raithatha

While on my vacation in India, I lived on a farm for 4 days. The farm bred some buffalos for milk and I fell in love with them.

So not really fashion, but sometimes I just have to share some love.

Kaboom Genius: Personal Fashion

Images by Hrishikesh Vimadalal

Skirt & Jumper: Topshop; Bracelets: Streets of Mumbai; Scarf: DIY fur; Shoes: Underground UK; Leggings: BCBG

This is what happens to me most of the times, I spend so much time processing the images and editing them each weak that by the time I actually upload them into a post and start to write the post, I am exhausted and don't feel like typing anymore. But I will make an effort of mention a couple of things that are going through my mind right now real quick.

 - I have been sincerely wondering if I should consider having a more sophisticated [in the basic bitches sense] wardrobe for work. Not entirely short dresses with pumps look [coz that's just not me and I don't want to loose my identity] but more of a maybe clean lined, black and white, Rick Owens, Givenchy look [on a budget of course]? I did like to experiment. What do you guys think?

 - I love this outfit. I have been wearing it nonstop since I bought it 2 months ago.

 - I had a lovely weekend. Danced for 5 hours straight like a monkey last night. I love my friends.

- Oh and Don't Shoe Me is going to be part of a coffee table book coming out in India soon. Will keep you guys posted! TOO EXCITED!

Working Men: Street Fashion

Some free lance porters who carry goods in the basket that they are sitting in over their heads for money. They work really hard all day scanning through the over crowded streets of Mumbai to delivery things from one place to another. So when they do get a moment to rest in between jobs, they use their baskets as their seats while waiting for the next merchant to come along and hire them.

Just sharing some scenes from my trip to India.

A Day in the Life of a Glamourous Indian Construction Worker: Personal Fashion

Images by Upasana Jain

Jacket: Zara; Wide Legged Pants: Fabindia; Necklace: Outhouse; Ring: Manish Arora for Amrapali jewels; Shoes: Moonspoon Salon; Sunglasses: Oakley

Everytime I go to India for a vacation I have to schedule atleast one shoot there. It is my favorite fabric to shoot against. Last time it was at Chor Bazaar which was quite an experience and this time it was at a construction site in Raey Road and the slums outside of it. It is always a huge experience to shoot in India. Everything becomes such a spectacle and mostly in a fun way. Everyone wants to participate, like my sister's driver in the first few pictures who decided to wear my sunglasses and act cheeky, the construction workers at my friend's site who were all to excited to pose and then the ladies in the slums who kept asking me to fry their fish. It was awesome. While shooting in the slums outside we [as usual] had a whole mob of people gather around just watching, which stalled the traffic behind them and eventually attracted the attention of some cops who came by to stop us from taking pictures as we were creating a commotion. Told you it's always interesting to shoot in india.

Love these pictures. Love my jewelry. And love my incredible photographer's talent and drive to not be afraid of all the shit I put her through during our shoots.

Rosetta: Street Fashion

The one place that you cannot ever get fed-up of in Bombay is Nariman Point. It is a long stretch of a retaining wall along the Arabian Sea that you can sit on and watch the endless ocean and beautiful sunsets. I was sitting there one evening with a friend, just catching up on our lives and this little girl came from behind and almost shoved her roses in my friend's nose. She wanted him to buy them for me, but I guess she also wanted him to smell the roses first. Although my friend didn't want the roses and neither did I, I was laughing so hard at her sudden appearance from behind us and the shoving of the roses in my friend's nose that I decided to take a picture of her on my iphone. She was happy to pose but then ultimately got shy, smiled and said thank you after she saw her pictures on my phone and ran away. I don't know why but her look reminds me of M.I.A [as a kid ofcourse]. Love the hoodie over a satin frock and her purple shorts peaking from under her dress. Too cute!

PS: I have had a blast of a time in Mumbai on my so called "vacation" which has been more packed than my usual days in NYC. And I cannot wait to share the stories with you guys, unless you've been following my updates on twitter and facebook in which case you know a bunch of it. Now in London for a week for some real downtime and relaxation.
