Here is a quick post I did with Hrishi a couple of weeks ago. Wearing a scarf I bought from India as a dress. Enjoy :)

I am utterly blown away by this series that Hrishi shot and edited. I love every photo! 

I have been trying to shoot in front of this sinking boat for over 2 years and just because it is quite a hike from Mahanttan I never made it until last weekend. It was totally worth it ofcourse. When it comes to styling I feel like there is always a tendency to do very pretty flowy dresses in abandoned locations as they form a cool contrast of pretty with the ugly or then the goth look cause it just goes with the abandoned dark theme. But I wanted to try something different and go for a slightly si-fi, indian, leather but with flowers wearing creature waiting for her sinking boat to arrive and take her to a her final destination. But don't worry, the journey to there is still light years away.

This is what happens to me most of the times, I spend so much time processing the images and editing them each weak that by the time I actually upload them into a post and start to write the post, I am exhausted and don't feel like typing anymore. But I will make an effort of mention a couple of things that are going through my mind right now real quick. 

 - I have been sincerely wondering if I should consider having a more sophisticated [in the basic bitches sense] wardrobe for work. Not entirely short dresses with pumps look [coz that's just not me and I don't want to loose my identity] but more of a maybe clean lined, black and white, Rick Owens, Givenchy look [on a budget of course]? I did like to experiment. What do you guys think? 

 - I love this outfit. I have been wearing it nonstop since I bought it 2 months ago. 

 - I had a lovely weekend. Danced for 5 hours straight like a monkey last night. I love my friends. 

- Oh and Don't Shoe Me is going to be part of a coffee table book coming out in India soon. Will keep you guys posted! TOO EXCITED!

Bloomers: Personal Fashion

I always get super excited when I find a piece of clothing that is different and a perfect addition to my wardrobe. These red bloomers I found at a thrift store in the Palm Spring desert are one of them. I love these bloomers and this shirt that I have practically been living in since my roomie gave it to me. Turned a scarf into a turban. This scarf is huge with a million ribbon rosettes on it. Its from my favorite shoe store Irregular Choices which BTW closed the only store they had in NYC and was 5 mins from my apartment. I am still mourning the death of the only cool shoe store in town! All other stores bore the crap out of me :( .. Please IC, come back! 

Hoping everyone had a great Memorial Day in the US. 

Oh and watched this french movie called "Intouchables" over the weekend and I highly recommend!

Shipwrecked Monkey Zoo and the Faceless Beast: Personal Fashion

Found this barge floating in the Hudson river with this wrecked monkey zoo sculpture on it. Of course Ben and I had to use it when we spotted it, irrespective of weather it would float away with us on it or would just sink with my weight. Don't even ask how we got on and off it.

Gave the faceless monkeys a human factor by giving them my furry hats to keep them warm in the blistering cold and took away my face to dehumanize me a little so that I feel a little less and react a lot less. I guess as humans we do this all the time. We treat our book with respect, love our clothes and money to no end and strive our entire lives to become stronger emotionally which really is just forcing ourselves to feel less.

But underneath all of the above, I have to let you in on a tiny life secret: When you wear hand puppet mittens, life automatically becomes funny as hell for no reason at all!
