Edgy: Personal Fashion

Images by NURBS

Tee: BCBG; Shorts: Express; Belt: Target; Cuff: Desigual; Shoes: Pixie Market; Clutch: Zara

I am a big lover of black and white with colors. But just one color is predictable and 2 colors are just confusing. So playing around with a few is a better collage for me. I wore my bindi all throughout fashion week and I think I have finally found my thing. I love it.

Did you guys know that Helena Bonham Carter is Tim Burton’s domestic partner? I had no idea [yeah i know..im pretty slow like that]...I LOVE HER!! and I LOVE TIM BURTON and I can now totally see how they are so absolutely MFEO!! When I see 2 people whom I don’t even know personally but know from their works that they are perfect for one another I see hope for myself to find my perfect Mr. Right!! It's True and BTW, no matter what the world says I loved that electric blue Armani Prive dress on Anne Hathaway last night at the Oscars.

Have a new post on Vogue. In about Bibhu Mahopatra's presentation at NYFW. Check it out.

Harakuju Girl: Street Fashion

All Images By Prutha Raithatha

Dress: $5 Halloween Costume; Accessories: Self Made

So much sanity since the past 2 weeks or so on my blog was making me a bit uncomfortable you see. So had too post Kerli’s pictures!! Her outfit reminds me of all the Harakuju style of Japan. Some cool Harakuju style can be found here. I spotted those shoes from a mile away. I really did! She is an artist BTW and I love that first picture with all the spooky shadows behind on the walls and the blindfolded teddy.

Indian Influencers at NYFW : for Vogue India

Waris Ahuwalia: Jewelry Designer + Actor

May I please say I have the biggest crush on him. BIGGEST!! I have so far only seen him on the web in the Satorialist or Jak&Jill kind of blogs and in some printed fashion magazines. He was strutting out of the tents with immense speed and I was at the coat check trying to get my coat when I saw him. I dropped my jacket on the floor and ran in front of him. First I asked if he had a minute to spare cause he looked like he was in a hurry and he said sure!! And then I babbled 10 sentences to him which all meant, “I love your style” in different words. And he was incredibly sweet and almost humbled to have heard my fascination with him. I love people who have made something of themselves but don’t loose their ground ever. I wish him all the best with whatever he does in life.

Rachel Roy: Model and Fashion Designer

Spotted at the front row of the Naeem Khan show I walked right upto her and I could almost feel her welcoming eyes. So sweet! I felt like hugging her, but ofcourse I like hugging everyone, and I had to behave so I did. She even wrote down what she was wearing for me in my book while I took pictures of someone else. If I sell her hand written note on ebay, will I make any money? BTW, she is wearing everything from her own line Rachel Roy and a Missoni Jacket.

Karan Johar: Bollywood Movie Director

I think at the entire NY Fashion Week he was the only Bollywood representative. Spotted at the front row of Prabal Gurung’s show I couldn’t help get excited at the prospective of seeing some Prabal stuff in his upcoming movies instead of Manish Malhotra designs and hence I had to go and talk to him. Again he was more than sweet and happily struck a few poses for me. After I took pictures of him and then settled down in my seat [which was right across from him but on the second row] I was thinking to myself, “If I were in India would I have ever gotten a chance to meet him so uninterrupted and casually?” Since I have been out of India for many years now I have no idea. Do you?

Meatpacking Church Sale: Personal Fashion

Images by NURBS

Dress/ Clutch: Zara; Shoes: Sam Edelman

I know you guys have heard it all already from me [especially the people who are following me on twitter and facebook] about NYFW. It was my first ever and I had a great time. Watched about 15-20 shows and met some incredible people. All in all, it was a fab experience. Have to thank Vogue India for letting me cover the events for them.

This was one of my outfits I wore one day at Fashion week and although it’s a great outfit for daily wear it was totally underwhelming at fashion week…lol… thank god I wore it on a weekday when I had only 1-2 shows to attend..lol..
Love the comfort of it though. It’s a perfect work outfit for me.

Hope Everyone is doing well and having a wonderful time in general.

Anna Dello Russo: Fresh off the Runway

Alexander Wang Fall 2011 Show. Image from The Sartorialist

Spotted one of my style icons Anna Dello Russo outside the center after the Narcisco Show wearing an Alexander Wang FW 11 [which means it was shown on the runway just a few days ago] bias cut streamer gown with an asymmetrical sweater straight off the runway. Even the shoes and clutch came with the whole package.

I hear she was spotted wearing 2 golden apples on her head on Thursday. Damn I missed it!! It is so much more fun to see her pictures and her whimsy in fashion than most other fashion icons that don’t really experiment that much or at all with their style. Love Anna!!!

Emmanuel Alt: NY Fashion Week

Images by Prutha Raithatha

On my way out of the Prabal Gurung show I spotted the new French Vogue Editor Emmanuel Alt at the tent chatting with a few friends. I waited for almost a whole 5 mins, not wanting to interrupt her conversation, before she was done and turned around. But when she did, I caught her eye and asked, “May I please take a picture of you?” and she replied [without asking me who it was for and what magazine etc.] “Yes. Sure.” And that was it. Love her jacket.

My So Called Prom and Extensions: Personal Fashion

Images by NURBS

Jumper: Super old bought when I was 12; Tight High Boots: Sam Edelman

Last night was insane. Went to a grunge concert with a bunch of my friends in Brooklyn and we had the best time. Was great listening to the 90’s songs I grew up to and hopping around like an angry bunny throughout the concert. My friends are nuts too. Love them for being soo cool and crazy!!

This is what I was wearing to the concert [sans the boots] so I thought it did be best to do a post on it. Love these boots I found half off at Bloomies.

New Hair, did you Notice??? I HEARTTTTTTT. Cut it real short at the back and added extensions to the front to add length. Needed something crazy coz I was sooooo bored. Lol.

I see a storm approaching my way this week. I can see it!! I can!! No one panic. I shall survive!!

Scarfed Out: Street Fashion, NYC

Images By Prutha Raithatha
Tote: Urban Cricket; Jacket: Spiewak; Shoes: Seychelles; Tee: Mom's; Hat: street; Scarfs: Random places; Necklace: Kelacala Q

Zoe is a nanny with a lot of spunk for sure. Love the multi layered scarf to beat this blasted NYC winter and I adore the guns tote. Cool necklace too.

BTW, I have been working my ass-off at work!! But finally with one deadline down, I can relax a little [very little...lol]. Went to my first Knicks Game last night and it was awesome. The Kicks lost [idiots!!] but I got a foam finger!!! Was soo much more excited about the foam finger than the game..hehehe..

Hope everyone's having a great week!! I now have more than a few invites to NY fashion Week and I am all too nervous and excited now to go attend it for the first time. WHAT TO WEAR!!!!!
