Filip Klein is a Photographer/ Digital Artist/ Astrologer / Jewelry Designer. Could he be in any more creative fields? Although his clothes don't fit well coz he got the suit from his uncle and other things thrifted, you still can't walk past him without noticing him and his personal style. Love originality in any form. Goes to show that you don't really need tons of money to be fashionably original. And if your not original, being just generically fashionable is plain boring.

PS: Sorry for no Personal Fashion post this week. I got caught up in my Birth Day celebrations ;-) . Yup Started on Thursday ended Sunday morning. Ahhh the good times!!

There are a few amazing things that happen in NYC that cannot be watered down by anything like this giant wall called Deitch Wall of commissioned artwork on Bowery and E. Houston. The latest artist to put his stamp on this amazing 850 sq.ft of flat surface is Berry McGee [aka TWIST]. I love the outcome of spray painted names of hundreds of graffiti artists form years gone by to present. Incredible isn’t it? Super interesting coverage on the entire work and the night that the artists actually did it can be found here. [Incase anyone was interested].

Must also check out the artwork on my tee. Its just little things like these that reinstate my faith in people’s creativity. The print is a skull of course but see the eyes and you realize that its actually faces of 2 kids [and they are playing with their dog or something in the scene]. I agree it’s a little twisted to have kids faces to form a skull but I can’t help myself from loving the idea of mixing contradictions.  It kind of conveys that all good things [in this case kids] may not always be that good and all bad things [skulls] may not be that bad. And that’s the truth!! [yup I get my wisdom from fashion too…lol]. And BTW, that skirt is like at least 10-15 yrs old. I still wear and love it.

Had a great long weekend watching oldddddd animated movies, dinning and drinking with friends, spent a day with my niece [was the best] and drinking and eating some more.

Cantebury Jones is a writer / designer / a lot of other things I don’t remember. But to me she will always be the one person who I spotted in modern day that wore bloomers underneath her dress as under garment. I love it!! Mind you we spotted her almost 3-4 months ago and I just haven’t had a chance to post her pictures. So this is even before bloomers became available at American Apparel. And in total love with that watch. Love her spunk and enthusiasm.

Meet Gandhi the Yoga teacher. Everything about him screamed calm and peace. I am serious. I was checking him out for almost 10 mins before I realized that I was carrying my camera and I should take his pictures. Sorry, when it comes to cute boys I act like a chick first and blogger second. Hehe…  Damn it, I never asked him where he was from cause he did have an accent of some sort.

I know you can see it coming, but I have to say it anyway: I love the hair!! And the cute overalls with paint splashes just did it for me. Now everyone say it with Gandhi, "OHHHMMMMM!!"

The Blues: Personal Fashion

As I said in my last personal fashion post, the trip to that vintage store in NJ proved to be delightfully fruitful. This blue sequence top is also one of my finds from the store. Doesn't it just remind you of Madonna from the 80’s? Paired it with pants I got from Zara with suspenders. Although I’m not a fan of the fit, but I realized that only after I saw the pics. Hehe.. My mirror at home is like one of those magic mirrors. Makes me look taller and thinner than I actually am. Not my fault.

Had a relaxed weekend, with a little bit of partying and a lot of self-reflecting. Some conclusions in life are: You are your best friend. Family is the only unconditional love you shall ever have. And that I AM THE KING OF THE WORLD!!  Hehe…

Please oh please give me some juice about your lives!!! I am itching for some gossip!!

Samantha Rose: Street Fashion

I normally find a color that I obsess over for a certain period of time and sometimes these periods can be extendeddddd. Hence I feel like “GOLD” as a color was invented/ discovered/ was brought into existence just for me.  Turns out, its not really true L. Apparently Gold looks great on almost anyone and Samantha is rocking that Betsey Johnson Gold bag. I also love Betsey Johnson as a personality. She is so out there and a whole class of creative apart. Loved that she showed up on Project Runway in a leopard print dress and that hot hairdo of hers. She’s just super hot!!

Isn’t it freaking cool that Samantha made this outfit herself and that bow for her head? FYI, you can find her on Etsy as “Bows by designer Samantha Rose”. And that shot with the sunglasses is incredible IMO.

Envy: Street Fashion

Having a half-shaven patch on head seems to be a trend of sorts this summer. Love the look on Donna. It’s great that she went not too punk with her entire outfit.  I think that if she would have gone total punk rock with tons of leather and studs, it wouldn’t have looked as good. I like the idea of restrained rebellion. Love the glasses and the gold chain detail on her neckline and pockets.

Donna is a designer for Envy.  And going by the Envy clothes her 2 other friends were sporting, she has to be pretty darn good at what she does.
