Don't Talk to Me Right Now, I am Listening: Street Fashion

Images by Prutha Raithatha

She reminds me of a very sexy version of Lindsay Lohan. Cannot get over her gorgeous face. But her messy hair with the braid in the front and the cool sexy vibe from an effortless outfit is what made me stop her at Coachella to ask for her picture. I miss Coachella!

Helmut Lang Show: NYFW Fall 2012

All images by Anna Morgowicz for DSM.

One of my favorite Fall shows at NYFW. The space, presentation, clothes and the show were very well done IMHO. I can't wait to see what Helmut Lang comes up with as a visual artist

Finding Spring in the Fall Shows: For Squarekey.com

Hello peoples!

So here is a link to my coverage of the Costello Tagliapietra Fall 2012 show for Squarekey.com.
Squarekey is an up and coming e-commerce website that will be selling cool International designer stuff to the Indian market. You can find more about it here. The website will be launching officially very soon.

So yeah, the slight lack of posts on DSM are partly cause I am writing for them as well and working on different projects on the side along with my normal full time job as an architect and have parents in town for a month and since I haven't seen them in 1.5 years I am spending as much time with them as possible. Shall be back into the usual groove of things on DSM as soon as parents depart, but until then, things shall be updated as and when I get a moment to breath. Nothing is more important than receiving some unconditional TLC from the family.

Definitely a lot of cool things going on that I need to update you guys about! Coming soon.

Check out the entire post here.

The Hole: Personal Fashion

Images from Ben Taylor

Shirt: Gift from Roomate; Harem Pants: Rachel Roy; Skull Necklace: OS Accessories; Shoes: Office UK

It's been a crazy couple of weeks and honestly I say that all the time now so I guess it's just been a crazy life overall. Went to Coachella last weekend and cannot tell you how much fun I had just being away from work, blogging and New York for 6 days. The music was insane and for me the highlight was to see Florence and the Machine perform up close and live! I love that woman! You can check out some of my Coachella pictures on the DSM Facebook or twitter pages.

Finally got an opportunity to do a personal shoot and on a hunt for a cool location Ben and I were walking around the Bowery and stumbled upon The Hole art gallery which had an entire indoor French garden as an installation sponsored by Playboy.com with a pond and tiny fishes and willows and grass and the green bridge all inspired by Monet's estate. Artist E.V. Day was awarded the Munn Artists Residency to live on Monet's famous estate in Giverny and be inspired by the gardens that inspired Monet. She invited artist Kembra Pfahler to go along with her and create art. Kembra is an iconic performance artist who's art attire is basically her naked body painted in red, a huge wig and some stripper boots. E.V's work is best known for her refracted photography. The collaboration is insane and if you are in NY you must check it out at The Hole! Just to give you a glimpse here is a picture from the exhibition which was hung around the indoor garden that the gallery kindly allowed us to use as our shoot location.

Boutiika: Press

Did an outfit of the week layout for Boutiika.com and they did a blogger spotlight feature on me. The outfit I picked was to be for a music festival as I just got back from Coachella and this was exactly the vibe. What do you think?

DSM in POOL Design Magazine's Annual Compilation: Press

A long time ago I was interviewed by POOL design magazine for their 3rd ever issue. After a year of incredible monthly issues POOL decided to compile it's first 12 issues into a book and hence my article is in it. So even though it's nothing new, it still gives me a kick out of knowing that DSM is now part of a real BOOK!! An actual design book with other incredible people, designers and artists from all over India. I highly recommend everyone to get a copy if you would like a cool book to add to your collection on contemporary India design industry [art, fashion, photography, furniture, etc. all included]. Will try to post a few pictures of some other's works in the book later.

For now I am just back from Coachella today on a red eye from LA and am at work with no sleep. So will get back into the grove of things in a bit. Until then, yeahieeee for being a book!!

Looking for Something: Personal Fashion

Images by Alison Wynn

Shirt: Thrifted bridal petticoat which I painted; Sweater: H&M; Shoes: Moonspoon Salon

"There is divine Peace in bright colors and good sex and music and sushi and fresh air and nutella and free hugs." [quote on my skirt] There really is :)

Felt like a DIY project so I ended up painting my skirt an hour before we shot. Alison helped. I think I may actually carry this skirt with me to Coachella next weekend, unless it doesn't fit in my luggage. Howz it going y'all?
