Or should I call it Subway Fashion. I had gone to Williamsburg on Saturday with a few friends just for fun and while on our way back to Manhattan, I spotted Joanne on the train. I was so engrossed in conversation with my friends that the entire ride I didn’t notice her and just when her stop arrived and she started to walk out I noticed her entire outfit and her hair and bolted out of the train, missing the shutting doors by a string [I swear, it was that dramatic if you watched it in slow mo.]. My poor friends had no idea why I ran out of the train in the middle of my sentence. Lol… Oh well, now they know.
Anyway I jumped in front of Joanne [almost shaking] and asked her for pictures and she very graciously [and slightly suspiciously] let me. I love her style!! Its so unique and different and yet comfortable. I adore what she’s done with those vintage platforms and covering them up with stockings. The one-piece legging boot effect is brilliant. And the cut of the shirt dress and that HAIR!!! I don't know what kind of a hairstyle that is called but I think its brilliant. And even her makeup was perfect with those dots below the eyes. She looks like a doll doesn’t she? And who thinks of using old tool bags as a purse? I am not kidding when I say, all these amazing, super creative people I have spotted on the streets on a regular basis make me feel like I literally belong in a Gap outlet mall catalogue compared to their ingenuity.
Thanks so much Joanne for posing for me. Joanne Petit Frere is a jewelry designer and I saw some designs of her online and I highly recommend you all to check it out too. Really!!
